The M1 story starts like all great entrepreneurial stories - with one nagging thought:
There has to be a better way.
Ski design and manufacturing has been essentially unchanged since fiberglass and composite skis were introduced in the 1950s. Sure, there have been plenty of innovations along the way, but the core foundational principles have stayed the same. And along with those foundations, challenges and shortcomings.
With all of the advancments in manufacturing and design technology in the past 70 years, we felt there must be a better way to make skis.

2014
The first prototype is made. No, it's not an overgrown ski - it's a snowboard. The original intended application for the technology was snowboarding.
2019
Over years of testing and design iterations, we realized that our technology had immense applications for professional and enthusiast skiing. Thus, the first pairs of M1 Skis were born.
2024
Over multiple years, thousands of runs, and dozens of testers, the designs are refined - and refined again. The design is frozen and our first production ready skis are made.

The M1 story started with a vision for superior ski manufacturing. Turns out, that was the easy part.

The Dream Team
We're a small but scrappy team of engineers, entrepreneurs, and ski-fanatics. We're kind of like the Avengers except instead of fighting aliens hell-bent on destroying humanity, we make skis.
Collectively our team brings just under 100 years of aerospace engineering experience to M1 Skis. We're not talking model airplanes here. We're talking electron beam additive manufacturing, advanced stealth fighter conceptual design, top secret if-I-told-you-I'd-have-to-kill-you kind of stuff.
We've also been skiing since we were in diapers. We've spent decades servicing skis professionally for skiers ranging from the enthusiast to the Olympian.
